Summons 3D Printing

Prints summoned
layer by layer

A one-person hobby workshop conjuring fantasy props, models and useful things from filament and resin. Everything here is made for the love of the craft, and finished pieces go out through Vinted.

A workshop of one, run for the love of it

Digital designs are checked, tuned and sliced in the workshop, then summoned into the physical world one layer at a time.

This site is a showcase, not a shop. It exists to share what comes off the print bed: fantasy figures, props, terrain pieces, fidgets and practical prints.

Looking to own a print? Finished pieces are occasionally listed on Vinted, and that is where all buying and selling happens.

Three rites, one object

Every piece takes the same path, from a file on a screen to something you can hold. The middle stage is where the hours go.

I

The Incantation

Every print begins as a digital design, gathered and prepared in the workshop - checked, tuned and sliced into hundreds of wafer-thin layers, ready for the printer.

II

The Summoning

Two rites, one result: filament printing draws molten plastic through a heated nozzle, while resin printing conjures each layer from liquid with ultraviolet light. Hours later, an object exists where there was only raw material.

III

The Binding

Supports are removed and details finished - resin pieces washed and cured, filament pieces tidied up. Some stay as printed; others are sanded, primed and painted.

Three materials, three different jobs

The material is chosen to suit the object rather than by habit, and it decides how a piece behaves once it is yours. The short version is below. The full comparison covers heat, weather, detail and how to look after a print.

PLA

Rigid and colourful

  • Watch out for Heat. It softens from around 50 to 60°C, so it sags in a parked car or on a sunny windowsill.
  • Best for Ornaments, display pieces and indoor practical items.
ABS

Tough and weatherproof

  • Holds its shape Up to roughly 100°C, and it handles rain, cold and knocks.
  • Colours kept in stock Yellow, black, red, blue and green.
  • Best for Outdoor fittings and parts that get handled.
Resin

Finest detail

  • Watch out for Fragility. It is the most brittle of the three, and daylight yellows it over time.
  • Best for Miniatures, display models and small intricate features.

Ask for something specific

Most pieces can be run again in a different colour or a different material, and small changes are usually possible. Requests go through Vinted messages, which keeps everything in one place with your order.

You can ask for

What is possible

  • A different colour ABS is kept in yellow, black, red, blue and green. Anything in the gallery can be run again in a colour that suits you.
  • A different material If a piece needs to live outdoors or take a knock, ABS instead of PLA. See the materials page.
  • Small changes to fit Minor adjustments to dimensions, holes or clearances so a part fits your kit.
  • Something from the gallery Sold pieces can usually be printed again.
Worth including

What helps

  • What it is for The job a piece has to do decides the material more than anything else.
  • Indoors or outdoors Sun and heat rule PLA out quickly, so this one matters.
  • Any measurements it must match If it clips onto something, the dimensions of that something.
  • No rush is fine This is a hobby run around a day job, so timings are best effort rather than promised.
Not possible

What we cannot do

  • Licensed characters and brands Copyrighted or trademarked designs are not something we can print, even from a file you supply.
  • Load bearing or safety critical parts Nothing that holds weight, or that someone's safety depends on.
  • Anything for food or drink The grooves between layers cannot be cleaned reliably, whatever the material.
  • Exact colour matching Filament shades vary between batches, so a close match is realistic and an exact one is not.
